Concept
Inspired by the Reebok ‘Split Cushioning’ innovation – a design departure first introduced by Reebok’s former Innovation Design Director Steven Smith in 1992 – this document is a visual and editorial exploration of how individuals come to define and drive the landscapes they operate within… by leaving them behind.
The nine individuals featured were each collaborators in creating the document itself. They are both subject and narrator, and the content is an exhibition of their unique creativity. The photographs, the words, the ephemera, the styling are all theirs. The handwriting is their own. The visual narrative is intentionally diffusive and messy, just as their stories are; a field study in the nonlinear.
The purpose of this project is to inspire. To encourage creativity. To stimulate singular style. And to empower creative and cultural departure. -
